Ottawa Claims Big Savings From Electric Aggregation

If you live in rural La Salle County and are unsure about voting yes or no for electric aggregation, maybe listen up to what’s going on in Ottawa.
According to a press release from the city of Ottawa, electric users at homes and at small businesses have saved nearly 400 thousand dollars on electric bills between July and September. That comes out to roughly 29 percent less per bill.
If you recently opened a business or changed your address in Ottawa, expect an “opt-out” mailing next week. So far the city says 95 percent of electric users have decided to not opt-out and let the city shop around for lower rates thru aggregation.
