Burgoo Festival in Utica

Burgoo Stew for lunch today? Several thousand will as they visit Utica for the annual Burgoo Festival sponsored by the LaSalle County Historical Society. Luceille Werner sits on its board. Werner says additional space and vendors have been added. A new “Burgoomeister” is in charge of this year’s stew, whose recipe is kept secret. Volunteers stop by to help stir the mix every few hours. Music plays all day on the museum grounds and the entire grounds will be open. Burgoo Stew will be served starting at 10:30
