TIF district proposed for La Salle would benefit LP High School project

Posted by wlpo on August 1, 2012

An old truck terminal, farm land, and some light industrial areas in La Salle could soon be included in a tax increment financing district.  Also included would be land owned by LP High School that could one day be the site of a new athletic complex.

The city council Wednesday night agreed to an intergovernmental agreement with the high school.  According to the agreement the high school brought up the idea of the TIF and will help city pay for it.  Mayor Jeff Grove says the high school board still needs to approve the agreement.

The Community Partnership TIF would be the city’s eighth. You can learn more about the TIF and share your thoughts during a public hearing at 6pm Tuesday, September 25 at La Salle City Hall.
