Man accused of of parking car on railroad tracks

Posted by wlpo on August 1, 2012

A father and son are lucky to be alive after their car was found parked on a set of train tracks.  Police say a train was able to stop in time to avoid hitting Jeffery Mansberger’s car early Wednesday morning a few miles east of Route 251 in southern La Salle County.

Someone with BNSF Railway call the police.  Mansberger of Paw Paw, Michigan was arrested for DUI, child endangerment because a six year old boy was with him and improper lane usage.  He was being held in the La Salle County Jail.

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services was called to take the son and his dog, Butterscotch.
