Posted by wlpo on July 2, 2012

Put in a position of trust, police think a Leland woman failed miserably.

Kristal Sinetos is accused of stealing over 16 thousand dollars from a church day care and preschool in Sandwich.  Between January of 2010 and 2011, Sinetos allegedly stole money and grant payments and charged personal things to United Church of Sandwich.  The day care and preschool eventually had to close with the money gone.  Sinetos was a child care worker who handled finances for the church.

Her bond is 50 thousand dollars.

More People Expected To Hit The Road For The 4th

Posted by wlpo on July 2, 2012

NEW YORK (AP) – Americans who decide to go away this July Fourth holiday have more free days this year. That’s because July Fourth falls on a Wednesday.

AAA says last year, when July Fourth fell on a Monday, 40.3 million people traveled. This year, AAA projects that 42.3 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home between July 3 and July 8. That’s roughly the same amount that traveled in 2007, the last time July Fourth fell on a Wednesday.

The drop in the price of gas is also helping travelers who take to the roads.
