Illinois Hospital Association recognizes State Rep. Mautino

One of your lawmakers has received a big thank you from The Illinois Hospital Association.  They chose Democratic State Representative Frank Mautino for their Rural Legislator of the Year Award.

The group says that Mautino engages with small and rural hospital leaders to understand the work that is being done to provide quality care each day.  Lawmakers are nominated by small and rural hospital leaders.

Oglesby woman accused of giving prescription drugs to undercover police

Unless you’re a pharmacist, you shouldn’t be selling prescription drugs.   A woman in Oglesby is accused of giving anit-anxiety and muscle relaxants to some working undercover with TRIDENT.

Amber Stanley was arrested Monday for unlawful delivery of a controlled substance after an investigation into drugs in the Oglesby area.  Stanley was taken to the La Salle County Jail.

Heroin charges for Ottawa pair

An investigation into drugs in Ottawa left two men arrested.  Jeremy Foster and Thy Yoeun were charged Friday with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Ottawa narcotics detectives searched their house on West Norris Drive and say they found heroin, stuff to package it with and cash.

Foster and Yoeun were being held in the La Salle County Jail.

Streator Police Officer Killed In I-80 Crash

A lieutenant with the Streator Police Department is dead after a crash on Interstate 80 near Ladd.

56-year old Robb Hawthorne was off-duty when he was involved in the crash Sunday afternoon just after 2:30.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.  At least two other people were life flighted to Peoria.  Everyone else involved in the crash are from out of town.

The crash shut down traffic both ways on I-80 for several hours.
