Missing Ottawa man found

Posted by wlpo on May 5, 2012

An Ottawa man missing for about a week has been found. The body of Chris Strobel was found about 10 am today along the north shore of the Illinois River, a mile west of the train tressel. This was confirmed by AM 1220 WLPO by Ottawa police detective Dave Gualandri. There were no indications of foul play. Ottawa River Rescue was looking this morning based on a caller who thought they saw something along the river. The family has been notified. Gualandri says there are many questions that have to be answered including how Strobel got into the water. Ottawa police and the county coroner joined river rescue at the scene this morning.
