Fire Destroys Tonica Business

Posted by wlpo on April 18, 2012

There’s one less place to grab a bite in Tonica.  A fire heavily damaged the Station House Café Tuesday night.

Tonica Fire Chief Todd Anderson says they found out about the fire after someone called 911 around 8:45pm.  He says they arrived to find heavy smoke.

Area fire departments were called to help, including Peru with an aerial truck.  The building, which is owned by Tom Goskusky, is an old fire house.

Anderson wouldn’t speculate as to what started it.  Someone with the State Fire Marshall’s office was at the building Wednesday.
