Injured Eaglet Being Released From Starved Rock

Posted by wlpo on April 13, 2012

Wildlife officials will give Peace the bald eagle a chance at a new life.

The eaglet found with 10 pellets inside his body last October in Hennepin will be released into the wild tomorrow afternoon at Starved Rock State Park.  The public can watch the spectacle from the visitor’s center seawall.

Peace has been rehabbing since then at Hoo Haven Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Durand.

Two other eaglets were released last November at Starved Rock.
