When Cows Attack!

Posted by wlpo on February 18, 2012

A group of bovine was wreaking havoc on Route 71 near Norway.

According to the La Salle County Sheriff’s Office, between 2:45 and 4:15 Friday morning, a heard of cattle caused three separate crashes about a mile south of Norway.  The first crash involved Sandra Schiltz of Somonauk.  She was okay.

Over an hour later, David Roether of Ottawa hit a cow.  His vehicle was totaled but he was okay.  About the same time, Timothy Templeton of Crestwood swerved his semi trying to avoid the cattle.  He ended up hitting a guardrail and rolling over.

Templeton was taken to Ottawa Regional Hospital.
