Retrial in Streator murder case scheduled for Monday

Posted by wlpo on January 18, 2012

The retrial for a man once found guilty of shooting and killing his wife in Streator is scheduled for Monday.  James Alvarado of Streator has a final pre-trial hearing Thursday morning in La Salle County court.  He was found guilty of murder in 2007 and was sentenced to 45 years in prison.

He was granted a new trial by 3rd District Appellate Court because they say State’s Attorney Brian Towne erred during his closing argument.
