Peru Woman Gets Hometown Hero Check Tomorrow

Putting in seven days a week at the Illinois Valley Animal Rescue isn’t going unnoticed.

Chris Ellberg of Peru will receive her five thousand dollar check tomorrow as the the top vote getter in Culver’s Hometown Hero Contest. Culver’s CEO and co-founder Craig Culver will personally deliver the check to Ellberg tomorrow morning at 9 inside the Peru Culvers.

Ellberg was chosen among a thousand finalists in the national competition. She plans to use to buy a car to replace the van she uses to rescue animals.
