Nurses Join Occupy Chicago Movement

CHICAGO (AP) – Nurses have joined anti-Wall Street protests in Chicago.
Leaders with National Nurses United say they’ve helped provide basic first aid to Chicago protesters and in other cities. Chicago police arrested 130 demonstrators early Sunday. The protesters with Occupy Chicago refused to leave a park which closes at 11 p.m.
The executive director of the nurses group is RoseAnn DeMoro. She says nurses were among those arrested and a first aid station was torn down. She says they oppose city officials’ decision to arrest the protesters. The nurses plan to picket outside Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s downtown office Monday.
