School Limiting Student Bathroom Breaks

Posted by wlpo on October 17, 2011

EVERGREEN PARK, Ill. (AP) – Do you think students ask to go to the bathroom just to screw around and miss class time?

Students at one suburban Chicago high school might have to hold it or risk staying after school. A policy at Evergreen Park High School gives students three restroom visits during class per semester. After that, they have to make up any missed class time after school.

Principal Bill Sanderson says the policy is designed to make sure students don’t miss valuable class time. He says it deters
them from using restroom visits as an excuse to miss class. Each teacher gets to decide whether to enforce the policy in
their classes.
