9-11 memorial service
Posted by wlpo on September 11, 2011
President Barack Obama has read a psalm about refuge and strength, at a memorial ceremony at the site of the World Trade Center to mark the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. After a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m., marking the time when the first jetliner slammed into the north tower a decade ago, Obama read Psalm 46 from the Bible. Moments of silence have also been observed at the times when airliners struck the south tower and the Pentagon, and another is planned at ceremonies in Shanksville, Pa., at the time Flight 93 went down.
