Alzheimer’s Walk raises more than $25,000

Posted by wlpo on August 22, 2011

Any time you hold a fundraiser and 60 more people sign up than you expected, you have to be pleased.  And organizers of the Walk to End Alzheimer are delighted at the turn out for yesterday’s event at Baker Lake in Peru.

They were hoping for 180 participants but ended up with more than 240.  They raised more than $25,000.  The top individual fundraiser was Pat Acuff who collected $1500 while the top team Home-Instead raised nearly $2500.

Proceeds go to the Alzheimer’s Association.
