Sewer seperation work could resume soon in Peru

Posted by wlpo on August 15, 2011

If all goes as planned, you’ll soon see construction crews returning to Peru.  A check for $855,000 is being hand-delivered to T.J. Lambrecht Construction Tuesday morning.  Mayor Scott Harl thinks the payment will put the storm sewer separation work back in motion.  The contractor pulled off the jobs site a week and a half ago because of payment concerns.

The city has taken out a two million dollar revolving loan to make sure they can pay the contractor.  The city had been paying the contractor as they were being paid by the state but state payments fell behind.

Harl doesn’t think the stoppage has caused problems with the resurfacing of Route 6.
