Thieves Targeting Ottawa Construction Site

Posted by wlpo on August 12, 2011

With any major construction project, there are unplanned costs.  With the new Central Intermediate School in Ottawa, extra money is going to security.

The work site has been hit by thieves in June and August.  In June, generators, copper piping, a drill and saw were all stolen.  Earlier this month, a number of tools were taken.

Ottawa Elementary Superintendent Cleve Threadgill says the district is paying for extra security to be at the construction site at night all week long.  Ottawa Police have also stepped up patrols in the area.

No one’s been arrested.
