Area Town Contemplating Golf Cart Ordinance

Posted by wlpo on August 4, 2011

Get ready to share the roads in Seneca with golf carts.

The Seneca Village Council has put on file an ordinance allowing golf carts to be driven on roads with a maximum speed limit of 35.  They can’t go past 20 miles per hour themselves and must only be driven from daylight to dark.

Golf cart drivers will have to pay a yearly 50 dollar license fee and have liability insurance.  Drivers must be older teenagers and adults.

The ordinance could officially be passed at the August 17th board meeting.
