Relay for Life Upper Illinois Valley brings in big numbers

More than 40 teams spent Saturday night at Lake Mendota for a second year cancer fundraiser that exceeded all expections.  Relay for Life of the Upper Illinois Valley brought in more than $155,000 for cancer research–over ten times more than last year.  Event organizer Mitch Landgraf described this year’s relay as inspirational, and the 40 team turn-out as a testament to how many people cancer has touched.  If you’re interested in being a part of next year’s relay, visit http://www.relayforlifeupperillinoisvalley.com

Tresspassing at the LaSalle County hi-rise results in an arrest.

Lee Etta Lumpkins, 43, of LaSalle was taken into custody Saturday night.  She was
found at the LaSalle County hi-rise without a valid guest pass.  She was charged
with Criminal Trespass to State Supported Property.  She was released by posting
bond.
