Peru Municipal Band plans Father’s Day concert

Dads in Peru can celebrate Father’s Day with music.  The Peru Municipal Band will be performing a concert at 2pm Sunday at the east side of Liberty Village in Peru.  You should bring a lawn chair.

Streator teens arrested for burglaries

A motorbike and a pair of ATVs stolen from Streator and Livingston County have been found and the teens accused of stealing them are in jail.

Someone called the Streator Police Wednesday morning saying their motorbike was stolen from their garage.

That bike and the two ATVs were found along with 18 year old Robert Gula of Streator and a 16 year old of Streator by investigators in Livingston County.

Both teens were arrested for two counts of burglary and one count of possession of stolen property.  The 16 year old was also arrested for obstructing justice.  He was taken to the juvenile detention home in McLean County.  Gula was taken the Livingston County Jail.  More charges are pending in La Salle County.

Streator most recent town to sing on with NCICG

Moving from Princeton to Ottawa is gaining a new client for the North Central Illinois Council of Governments.

The Streator City Council voted this week to start partnering with NCICG.  Mayor Jimmie Lansford mentioned the company’s relocation closer to Streator was a factor along with their work in bringing broadband internet and countywide transportation to the area.

NCICG works with many area towns and government bodies to write grants.

Motorcyclist dies after crash in on Route 52

A crash involving a motorcycle and two cars left the person on the motorcycle dead.  It happened around 4:30pm Friday at Route 52 and County Highway 3 between Sheridan and Newark.

Police say the motorcycle was heading west on Route 52 and collided with a pickup truck that pulled out from County Highway 3.  The motorcyclist was then hit by on oncoming SUV.

The motorcyclist was later pronounced dead at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
