La Salle chosen to receive park grant

La Salle’s Rotary Park is getting a big boost from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
The new park is one of 33 projects in the state that is receiving a grant through the Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development Grant program. La Salle is getting $400,000 with a 50% local match required.
The park off Route 6 will include a nature-based playground, soccer field, multi-purpose trails, ice skating and parking.
