Posted by wlpo on April 24, 2011

United Way of the Illinois Valley is attempting to get books into the hands of lower income families. Kick-off is 9:30 Saturday as grade school students will decorate collection boxes at the United Way office. The boxes will be distributed across the Valley to Dimmick Grade School, Eureka Savings Bank, Lock 16 office, Kid’s Place in LaSalle, Mendota Senior Center, Illini State Bank in Tonica, Tonica Grade School, First Federal Bank, The Girl Scout office and others. You and other residents are invited to drop off new or gently used books at any of the above locations. Books will be sorted and cleaned before being distributed June 18th. Reserve a spot for this Saturday’s art day at the United Way in LaSalle by calling 223-83 39.
