Local Flavor To Cubs Opening Day

Pre-game festivities at Wrigley Field Friday had plenty of local representation.
Just before actor Robert Redford threw out a ceremonial first pitch, Brendan, Dan and Heather McAlvey of Walnut took the mound and threw a pitch to Cub pitcher Kerry Wood.
Minutes later, Utica firemen Tom and Ben Brown were among a group presenting the national 9-11 flag during the national anthem. The Brown’s were joined by Chicago Mayor-elect Rahm Emanuel in the Wrigley Field outfield.
