Changes for I V Red Cross Bloodmobile

Posted by wlpo on January 30, 2011

You can donate blood at the Illinois Valley Red Cross for a few more Mondays before a scheduling change. Starting the last full week in February, I-V Red Cross’s bloodmobiles will be on Tuesdays. Hours will remain 1 – 5pm and on the fifth Tuesday – 2 – 6pm. Severe winter weather in the Eastern U.S. has cancelled 15,600 blood and platelet donations. The Red Cross is asking for donations from elsewhere to make up for the shortfall. All blood types, especially Type “O negative” are needed. Individuals at least 17 years old weighing at least 110 pounds and in good health are needed. The Illinois Valley Red Cross is at 1530 Fourth Street in Peru.
