Dr. Robert Mitchell is the new president of the Illinois Valley Community Hospital medical staff.

As an orthopedic surgeon, Mitchell has been part of the IVCH medical staff since 2000. He will serve a two-year term. Dr. Mark Fernandez is the new staff vice-president and Dr. Elizabeth Damron is the new secretary-treasurer.

Mitchell is taking over the presidency from Dr. Mario Cote.
