Mackowiak Back In Court

Posted by wlpo on January 14, 2011

By time accused murderer Keith Mackowiak of Seneca heads to trial, the death penalty could be banned in Illinois.

Mackowiak was in La Salle County Court Friday morning and again left without a court date.  His lawyers have filed various motions including one that says the death penalty is unconstitutional.  Mackowiak faces the death penalty if convicted of the July 2007 killings of Al and Katherine Twardowski of Seneca.  Governor Quinn though may sign a bill banning the death penalty at any time.

Mackowiak’s next court appearance is March 11th.
