Kinzinger supports make trip to Washington D.C.

Posted by wlpo on January 6, 2011

The thrill of the November election ended for most voters the next Wednesday morning, but for two men that helped with the Adam Kinzinger campaign, that excitement continued through this week.

Dan Hyson of Depue was the Bureau County coordinator for Kinzinger while Jim Mathews of Oglesby was a La Salle County coordinator.  They along with Dan’s wife, arrived in DC Tuesday afternoon just in time for the new Republican to be sworn in to Congress Wednesday.  The trip is leaving an impression.

Mathews says he wants to see congress become more responsive to the will of the people.

He believes the deficit could be reduced if more people have jobs.  He also thinks there’s a culture in Washington that has to change and elected representatives need to be held accountable.

Hyson says the trip gives him optimism that the 112th Congress will go back to agenda that they need to adhere by.

You can hear more about their experience by listening to an interview available at the AM 1220 WLPO news page.
