Posted by wlpo on January 6, 2011

Preliminary autopsy results show that 40-year old Tanya Shannon died from exposure to the cold.

La Salle County Coroner Jodi Bernard says she is still awaiting a final autopsy report and toxicology results.

Shannon was found Monday morning in an open field southeast of the Exelon Nuclear Station.  Her body was around three-quarters of a mile southeast of the car crash that killed her husband Dale.
