We know a break-in was attempted Friday morning in a Sheridan residence. It’s also known one of the two intruders was shot and taken to Ottawa Regional Hospital. What’s not known is the names of those involved and that could be released by the Sheriff’s office Monday. Sheriff’s deputies were called to a house on Bowen Road west of Sheridan and were told by the homeowner that he found someone trying to enter through the front door. The homeowner confronted two people and apparently shot one after getting no response.

Choosing Resin’s replacement today
Posted by wlpo on January 2, 2011
Choosing someone to represent the 75th State House District is going to be an all day thing. Republican chairmen and women from LaSalle, Grundy, Kankakee, Iroquois and Livingston counties are meeting virtually all day today in Morris to interview twelve applicants. Twenty six originally applied. Grundy County’s chairman will have the most say in the decision. Many Tea Partiers in the district seem to like David McAloon of Bourbonnais – a long time conservative with considerable business experience. McAloon was defeated in the 2010 primary by now Congressman-elect Adam Kinzinger. Back in November, Sue Rezin won the 75th District seat by defeating Careen Gordon but later was appointed to fill the state senate seat of retiring Gary Dahl.
