Oglesby Property Taxes Could Jump Up

Posted by wlpo on December 6, 2010

The Oglesby City Council  placed on file Monday night a tax rate that would go from $1.95 to $2.05 per $100 assessed valuation.

Overall, the city’s trying to collect over eleven thousand dollars more in property taxes.  The total property tax revenue would be 607 thousand dollars.

Finance Commissioner Paul Danekas says the tax levy is “the best we can do” given a one million dollar drop in Oglesby’s equalized assessed valuation.
