Fire, police and even river rescue members were called out to Baker Lake this morning for a rescue involving a dog.
Just before the annual Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis kicked off, a black lab apparently fell into Baker Lake. Just minutes before, police were called out to Baker Lake for a report of two large dogs running loose.
After about a half hour, emergency officials dove in and got the dog. Ambulance personnel were at the scene to treat people who dove into the frigid lake.
Ancare Veterinary Clinic and Illinois Valley Animal Rescue were both called to help handle the dog.
