Trees Being Replaced After Tornado

Posted by wlpo on November 19, 2010

Recovery from the June 5th tornado continues in Streator.

Danchris Nursery and Landscaping is donating 100 trees to be planted at Oakland Park.  That’s the number of trees that were leveled when a tornado ripped through Streator the evening of June 5th.  The damaged trees have since been removed from the park.

If you’d like to help, just grab a shovel and come to Oakland Park Saturday from 9 until noon.  Forty trees will be planted tomorrow with the rest coming in next year.
