Republican faces challenger in LC Board seat race

Posted by wlpo on November 1, 2010

A retired Ottawa High School registrar wants to keep her seat on the La Salle County Board.

Republican Arratta Znaniecki of rural Ottawa is looking for a second term in office, representing the 23rd district.  She’s being opposed by Democrat Gordon Nourie, an accountant from Ottawa.

Znaniecki serves on the County Finance Committee and thinks overtime pay needs to be better handled.

Nourie says his main mission if elected is to control spending and by doing that, make the budget fiscally sound.

The council also will hear about an idea for a civil war reenactment at Lock 14.  The council meets at 7pm.
