Lesser known candidates take the stage in Oglesby

Posted by wlpo on October 27, 2010

Fighting for visibility, some state and federal candidates ripped their more visible opponents and took shots at the current administration at a forum in the Oglesby Elks last night.  U.S.  Senate candidates Robert Zadek,  Independent,  LeAlan Jones, Green Party and Mike Labno, Libertarian were in attendance as were Robert Enriquez, Republican candidate for Secretary of State and Bill Malan, Libertarian candidate for Attorney General.  No one offered any support of the Obama administration, Congress,  Governor Quinn or the General Assembly.  All candidates stressed a willingness, if elected to turn the government back to the people, control spending and create a pro-jobs environment.  A former Illinois Valley resident, Kevin Beumel, now living in Rochelle liked all the candidates.

Tea Partier Irene Milligan of Princeton approved of Robert Enriquez:

75th District candidate Sue Rezin and current State Senator, Gary Dahl were invited but did not show.  The candidates forum was sponsored by the Bureau and LaSalle county Tea Party and moderated by John O’Hara, Vice-President of the Illinois Policy Institute, now traveling Illinois by bus in what’s called their “Turnaround Tour” attended the “Bureau LaSalle County Tea Party” candidates forum in Oglesby Tuesday night.
