Planes Makes Emergency Landing In Peru

A 44-seat commuter plane made an emergency landing just before 8am Sunday in Peru.

Ambulance crews were dispatched to the Illinois Valley Regional Airport after for a report of a passenger having a heart attack on a commuter plane.

Medics were waiting when the plane landed.

Combine Fire Off Route 71

No one was hurt but an expensive piece of machinery was damaged after a fire in Oglesby.

Oglesby firefighters responded to a combine that caught fire Friday afternoon in a field near Route 71 and East 4^th Road on the southwest edge of town.  Nearly an acre of cut cornfield was burned in the fire.

Crews were on scene for about an hour.

La Salle County Getting A Computer Boss

With a large number of employees comes the need for several computers.  With several computers you need computer technicians.

The La Salle County Information Technology Committee is recommending Don Pollex becomes the county’s IT Director.  He was hired as interim director months ago with a 65 thousand dollar salary.  The salary remains unchanged despite getting rid of the interim title.

Five people including Pollex were interviewed for the job.
