IVAC goals
Posted by wlpo on September 12, 2010
Tough economic times present an extra challenge for the new leader of the Illinois Valley Area Chamber of Commerce. Marci Duro has been serving as IVAC Executive Director since September 1. The position was previously held by Bar Koch for 17 years. Duro has been involved with IVAC since 1989, having served on the board and as president. Duro can’t pinpoint one project; instead she says there’s a whole lot that needs to be done. She thinks there are signs that the economy is starting to turn around. Duro spent the first couple of days on the job contacting mayors and community leaders, trying to get a feel for what they’re tackling and what they’re doing.
