Arrest Made In Princeton Jewelry Heist

Posted by wlpo on August 24, 2010

Police in Princeton say a person mowing their lawn led them to a burglary suspect.

24 year old Ralph Learned Jr. of Princeton was arrested Monday night for allegedly burglarizing Bruce Jewelers the day before.  Officials say someone mowing a yard found jewelry in a burn pit and called the police.

Learned was arrested a bit later after allegedly running from police in the 1200 block of North Maple Street.  He was arrested for burglary, criminal trespass, possession of cannabis and drug equipment.  Learned’s being held in the Bureau County Jail.

Investigators think Learned threw a rock through the front window of the jewelry store and reached inside.  In the process, he allegedly cut up his hand since blood was left behind.
