Grand Ridge cornfield accident

Posted by wlpo on August 8, 2010

A 27-year old Mount Vernon woman was taken to a hospital after her car stopped some 300 feet inside a corn field Saturday morning. La Salle county Sheriff’s office say 27-year old Emily Love’s car left North 21st road, about a mile east of Grand Ridge around 5am Saturday. For unknown reasons, Love’s car entered the south ditch, crossed the road, struck a fence and post and traveled three hundred twenty four feet into a corn field before stopping. Love was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Streator. No tickets were issued.
