Several tickets for woman accused in hit and run crash

DUI was one of the tickets for a woman accused of hitting and running.

Tina Biba of Peru was arrested overnight Saturday in La Salle after police say she hit a parked car in the 800 block of Creve Coeur and drove away.  She was arrested for DUI, improper lane usage, leaving the scene, and not leaving information.  She was released with on an I-bond.

Charges for man accused of drunken driving

A man’s accused of driving drunk with three kids in the car.

Police stopped Sylla Djibril of Muscatine, Iowa last night near I-80 in Ottawa after someone called the police complaining about a possible drunk driver.

Djibril was arrested for DUI, three counts of endangering the life/health of a child, illegal transportation of alcohol, and driving while license revoked.  He was taken to the La Salle County Jail.

Drug charges for California pair

Ottawa is a long way from Santa Cruz, California but that’s were a man from out west will be staying until someone pays his bond.

Robert Ehrlich of Santa Cruz was arrested for felony possession of more than 30 grams of cannabis after being stopped on Interstate 80 Friday night.

A woman that was with him, Miranda Casamayor, also of Santa Cruz, was arrested on a misdemeanor drug charge.  She was given a notice to appear.  He’s being held in the county jail.  A charge for mushrooms is pending.

Wyoming Police Chief killed in car crash

A police chief from Stark County is dead after a crash a couple of miles east of Camp Grove.

Investigators believe Wyoming Police Chief William Bauer was on his way to an Illinois Valley Crime Commission Executive Board luncheon in Hennepin when he hit another car late yesterday morning.

Police believe Bauer crash with a woman that had stopped for a stop sign but didn’t see him approaching.  The woman, Stacey Heinz of Wyoming, was in good condition after being taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.  Two children with her, an 18 month old and a one month old were not hurt.

Bauer was pronounced dead on the scene.  He was 36 years old.  An investigation continues.
