Council sends bike path plans to planning commission

Posted by wlpo on August 3, 2010

The idea of a bike path to Illinois Valley Community College received an initial okay from the Oglesby City Council.

The council Monday referred a comprehensive plan for the bike route to the city’s planning commission.  Commissioner Tom Porter says it makes sense to connect Oglesby with IVCC by way of a bike path.  Other commissioners said they still knew very little about the plans other than what they’ve read.

Oglesby is going after a grant that would help establish a bike trail most likely going along Richard Moyle Highway and then down Orlando Smith Road to IVCC.
