Two arrested and one wanted on sexual abuse charges

Posted by wlpo on June 11, 2010

A three-month long investigation has left two men arrested and another wanted for sexual abuse charges.

La Salle Police say the investigation began after a 14 year old girl told them she had sex with a 36 year old man in La Salle.   Warrants were issued last week for Michael Shaw of Spring Valley, Philarious Conway of Princeton and Eric Weatherspoon of Peru.

Shaw is accused of having sex with the 14 year old.  He was arrested Wednesday at work in Ottawa and is being held in the La Salle County Jail with his bond set at $75,000.

Conway was arrested last Tuesday at his home.  He’s also being held in the La Salle County Jail with his bond set at $75,000.

Police are still looking for Weatherspoon, who’s a registered sex offender.  If you know where he is call Illinois Valley Crime Stoppers.
