Brick streets not forgotten in Ottawa

Posted by wlpo on June 3, 2010

Brick streets are a dying breed and the city of Ottawa is trying to take care of what they have.

The city is spending $39,000 this year to repair three blocks worth of brick streets.  Ottawa Masonry will do the work since they were the lowest of four bids.

The stretches that’ll have work done in the next few months are on Paul, Poplar and Christie Streets.   The city budgeted nearly $100,000 last year for brick street repairs so they’ve scaled back this year.
