Man accused of taking things from cars in Oglesby

Remember to lock up your car.  Police in Oglesby arrested a man they think was going through cars and taking things.

Gary Griglione of Oglesby was picked up Friday evening, arrested for two counts each of criminal trespass to a car and burglary.  Additional charges are pending.  He was taken to the La Salle County Jail.

Mackowiak receives permission to represent himself

It’s been almost three years since a couple was found dead in their home outside of Seneca.  The man charged with their killings has been in jail since, but hasn’t yet been tried.  When he does, he’ll be acting has his own lawyer.

Judge H. Chris Ryan said Friday Keith Mackowiak can defend himself when his case goes to trial.

Mackowiak will have another status hearing in a couple weeks.  He faces the death penalty if found guilty.

Prom night for LPHS

If you see a lot of teen sporting formal wear Saturday, they’re probably headed to LP’s prom.

Prom is this evening at Senica’s Oak Ridge. It starts at 7pm, students have until 7:15 to arrive.  They will not be allowed to leave until midnight.

The promenade will be before the dance at Matthiessen Auditorium starting at 5:30pm.
