March for Babies to take off from IV YMCA

Posted by wlpo on April 25, 2010

Hundreds are taking to the streets of Peru Sunday.  It’s not a protest, but an effort to prevent birth defects and premature babies.

The March of Dimes’ “March for Babies” starts with registration at 12pm Sunday at Illinois Valley YMCA in Peru.  At 1pm, upwards of 600 people will walk to Centennial Park and back.

The march will include plenty of kid’s games, food and a memorial service for area babies who recently died.
