Some major road projects in the area are included in the governor’s six year highway improvement program.
Scheduled for this construction season is 29 miles of resurfacing of Interstate 80 at various spots in La Salle County along with about two miles of Route 351 in Oglesby getting new culverts and sidewalks. The Oglesby stretch is also going to get resurfaced.
Longer-term projects not set to start this year are: resurfacing of Route 178 through Utica; resurfacing from the Route 251 bridge in Peru to the Oglesby Spur; and resurfacing of Route 6 from just east of Spring Valley to Union Street in La Salle.
