A family that’s part of a religious farming community near Tiskilwa is staying in a temporary home after fire destroyed their duplex.
Fire fighters from all over Bureau County were called to “Plow Creek Fellowship”, a 12 family Mennonite Community, Saturday evening.
Steven Graham says he returned from Princeton to find his home was burning. He says he found a blessing when he learned his wife and five children were safe. He says at least ten fire departments were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. It’s believed to have started near the back porch.
The family is staying in the community’s meeting house until they can find another place to stay.
