Since 2005, a junior high in La Salle has been winning praise from the Illinois State Board of Education. Lincoln School has earned the recognition of being a Spotlight School for a fifth straight year.
The designation is based on last school year’s ISAT scores. To qualify as a spotlight school, schools must have made adequate yearly progress for the past two years, have at least half of their enrollment from low-income families with at least six out of 10 students meeting or exceeding reading and math standards in 2009.
Lincoln Junior High is one of 41 schools earning the recognition for a fifth year in a row.
