Police allegedly find cocaine in old chairs

Posted by wlpo on March 3, 2010

It seems the people accused of hauling drugs on Interstate 80 are getting creative, allegedly hiding the drugs in furniture and hidden compartments.  But, it doesn’t seem to be working.

Police yesterday morning arrested a man from California they say was hiding cocaine inside secret compartments in old chairs.  Jesus Ramirez of Highland was stopped for speeding near Utica.  Police say he gave permission for them to search.

He was arrested for controlled substance trafficking and was taken to the La Salle County Jail.
