Nursing Home Pick Pulls Out

Posted by wlpo on January 22, 2010

The day she was supposed to take a physical and officially start the job, Debra Brown sent word to La Salle County Board Chairman Jerry Hicks she wasn’t accepting the administrator job.

The board had approved Brown the week before with a starting salary of 79 thousand dollars.  Nursing Home Committee Chairman Gary Small says Brown didn’t give any specific reasons on pulling out of the job.  She lives in the suburbs and was going to face an hour and a half commute to Ottawa.          Small says he and others in an interviewing committee will get together next week to decide what to do next.  Small says he would like them to first approach the other finalist with Brown to see if they’re still interested.

A consultant has been filling in since Adrienne Erickson was fired as administrator in September.
